The Natural-Colors Henna contains less than 3% dye*, especially formulated for Natural Gray hair Coloring but is also effective in coloring all hair colors. It is available in a range of colours including Black, Med.Brown (Chestnut), Burgundy(Auburn) and Mahagony(GoldenBronze). Please specify your color choice, when placing your order. *Less than 3% Dye(p-phenylene diamine) NO AMMONIA, NO PEROXIDE, 97% HERBAL. A preliminary Sensitivity Test, as directed, should be made first.
 
Caution: This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals.
Warning: Do not use this product to dye eyelashes/eyebrows; to do so, may cause blindness

Frequently Asked Questions



Q. How often can I use Henna?
A. All shades can be used every 4 to 6 weeks. If color fades quicker than 4-6 weeks it is safe to re-apply sooner

 

Q. Can I use Natural-Colors Henna with Natural-Laxers?
A. Yes. Same Day after applying Natural-Laxers. When re-applying Natural-Laxers, wait 2 weeks after Natural-Colors use. Shampoo thoroughly before re-applying Natural-laxers.

 

Q. Can Henna powders be mixed?
A. Yes. You can mix powders together to create your own formula. Mix powders well before adding liquid.

Q. Can I Henna after a perm?

A. After a Perm we suggest that you wait 3-5 shampooings. This will insure that the entire chemical residue is removed prior to doing the Henna application.

 

Q. Can I Henna before a perm?

A. Yes, Follow instructions below to remove Henna coating first.

 

Q. Can I use a Chemical Dye or Bleach over hair with Henna on it?
A. No. First you must remove the Henna coating from the hair shaft. The Henna coating is naturally removed after 2-3 weeks of regular shampooing. If Henna was applied less then 2-3 weeks before see removal instructions below.

 

Q. What is the best way to remove Henna?
A. To help remove Henna from the hair shaft, apply warm mineral oil to the hair. Leave on 20-25 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Shampoo out. This procedure is good prior to using a perm or chemical tint/color.

 

Q. Is Henna safe to use over a chemical tint?
A. Yes. If the hair is in excellent condition, Henna can be used over a chemical tint. However, this is not its purpose. Color results may very until new growth comes in fully. Henna should not be used over bleached or white hair.

 

Q. Can Hair be lightened after Henna?
A. No. The Henna color will remain on the hair even if high lift blonde tints or bleaches are used.

 

Q. Will Henna lighten hair?
A. No. Henna does not contain any lightening chemicals. Blonde Henna brings out yellow and golden brown highlights. Marigold Blonde Henna brings out gold and yellow highlights. Both add shine and body to grey hair.

 

Instructions

 
Helpful Accessories:

- Small bowl to mix paste in

- Tint brush or fine tooth-comb

- Oil or Vaseline

- Thin gloves

 

Sensitivity Test:

1. Cleanse small area of skin behind ear or inner surface of the forearm 

2. Apply small quantity of paste to the area and allow it to dry 

3. After 24 hrs wash the area gently 

4. If no irritation is apparent, it may be assumed that no sensitivity to the dye exists

 

Preparation:

1. Apply oil or vaseline around the hair line, ears and neck to avoid staining your skin

2. Mix powder (entire contents) gradually adding 60 ml (about 1.5 ounces) of warm water to make the paste (More liquid can be added if mixture is too thick)
3. Stir paste thoroughly for at least 5 minutes. While stirring it will become a gel like paste Use after 10 minutes. 4. Do not use the remaining paste. Discard Immediately.

 
Application:

1.Use tint brush or thin-toothed comb to apply the paste
2
. Apply plastic gloves
3. Part hair into small sections and apply paste from root to tip, working one section at a time.
4. Do not massage paste into the scalp
5. After applying Henna it is important to wait for the color development. Wait until the paste is completely dry (usually about 45-60 minutes).
6. Rinse your hair with water until the excess dye is removed and water runs clear
